——Introduction
This essay is the final task at the end of the semester of intro to social science. The requirement is that we develop our own arguments and discuss around what it means to be Chinese.
And my argument is, “What it means to be Chinese is that we should understand the importance of global perspective and expand the global perspective in line with the development of our country.”
This is actually a task that was told a long time ago, and we will be looking for the answer to this question throughout the semester of history learning during intro to social science. The argument I came up with was based on one of my teacher’s important points — that China is the hub of the world. The embodiment of China’s value needs to be seen from the perspective of the overall situation of the world. Therefore, As a Chinese, people also need to adapt to the development and demand of the world to help China better achieve a sustainable and stable foothold in the world.
And of course, in order to prove my argument step by step I need to first prove the claim that most supports my argument, the “pivot of the world”. I came into contact with this statement and argument in the teacher Shizhan’s “50 Lectures on The Outline of Chinese History”. The teacher used all the courses to show us why China met the requirements of becoming a global hub in the process of development by combing relevant history at home and abroad. Therefore, I also analyze the conditions for China to meet the requirements of the world to become a hub from the historical and global perspectives to prove this point. Therefore, I have also explained what a hub is and what it takes to be a hub and analyzed historically and globally what requirements has China already met to be a world hub to prove this point.
——Self-reflection
To finish this essay, I used the history contents I learned in this whole semester The most directly used knowledge is the diplomatic situation of various countries and ethnic groups from ancient times to the present, thus reflecting a pluralistic situation of China from ancient times to the present. And knows to analyze a country’s development trend and demand from the country’s long-term accumulation and also put it into the global field of vision to help doing the observes. This paragraph is a review of whole content before and introduction of the last lecture.
This paragraph is a review of whole content before and introduction of the last lecture. The teacher mentioned again that after the connection and analysis of the previous several lectures, we finally made the last lecture to get back to the core issues.
In order to realize the rigor of this article, I improved my ability to think comprehensively while completing this task, including considering problems in many aspects. The most direct manifestation is that I still keep some doubts about my own opinions by constantly trying to figure out if there’s a direct discrepancy between the facts and what I’m saying, and finding flaws in it, and adding some explanation and clarification. Also this give the reader a space for independent thinking and expansion of ideas. Like I mentioned in the essay is that my view of what it means to be Chinese is to have a global perspective, to learn and positively connect with the world, but I also made clear that this is not a statement that forces everyone to reach the same height. Also there perfectly possible to interpret what it means to be Chinese use the opinion with is not necessary to connecting to the world.
The other thing that I want to focus on when I talk about rigor is the quotation of the original sentence. I mainly quoted in the essay are the words of the teacher Shizhan’s, under the text are underlined and marked at the end of the source. I think this is a key point that I need to remember from the experience and learning I got after several times I write the articles.
