2020 is an extraordinary year with all kinds of disasters. The COVID is the closest to us and has the greatest impact on our creation. In the spring of 2020, my team members created the general storyline and lines of the script. Due to the impact of the epidemic, we were unable to start school in the spring, and the autumn semester came soon after. We brought together classmates who like movies (that is, the previous few people), and in this semester we will continue to create scripts left over from before.
A short semester passed in the creation, and a short four months was over. Of course, during this month, we have also made a big push for our film project. Although the teaching methods have been greatly adjusted under the influence of the epidemic, it does not hinder our creation.
We spent a short month in Yanqing, we completed the purchase of actors, costumes, and props in the trial film, and we completed the shooting of the trial film in Yanqing. Through this teamwork, I found that there were big problems in our cooperation. For example, in the division of labor, I might not have considered the feelings of other members, which made her feel uncomfortable during the shooting. Through this shooting, we summarized the problems that exist in our teamwork and team division of labor.
Soon the time came to Changping, this is the second month of our semester. In Changping, we mainly complete many details of the feature film, such as the costumes of different characters, the props of the shooting scene, the selection of shooting venues, the recruitment of actors, the selection of equipment and equipment, etc. Since the members of our team have adjusted after the change of the IP course model, the work I am mainly responsible for has not changed. Jacob and I also completed the design of the detailed shooting sub-lens in Changping. The main problem that may be encountered in Changping is that due to changes in the environment and personnel, some members’ enthusiasm for film creation has declined. Fortunately, during our several check-in discussions, this kind of problem has been alleviated after the discussion. The progress of the project in Changping is fairly smooth. Before going to the new campus, all the scene planning and shooting locations have been completed.
As the weather gets colder, we also moved to the long-awaited new campus in November, where we have our own creative space. Before the ELP, the team members and I confirmed the list of actors. I also used this time to organize the equipment and props we need in ELP shooting, investigate the equipment needed by other micro-film crews online, and combine our current needs to organize the equipment we need (this part Written in another Blog).
The ELP once per semester is here. We used a full week to film and present the script we planned for more than half a year. Within a week, we filmed the planned part as planned. ELP is a time that tested teamwork. After months of training, we completed the shooting task in a tacit understanding. Of course, some problems also appeared during the shooting. For example, in time management, sometimes the estimated time was exceeded unknowingly, or the estimated time was not enough for the shooting time. Lead to the need to delay the evening rest time. After one or two days of summary, in the follow-up shooting tasks, we completed the work well within the estimated time (for details, please watch “2020 ELP”).
After returning to school, Jacob and I edited the two parts of the shooting material separately, and I was responsible for the interview part. I mainly adjust the audio in the interview. In the editing part, I sometimes encounter technical problems. I will sort these problems and find solutions on the Internet. If you can’t find it, then go to my editing teacher for help. With her help, I quickly solved the problem I encountered.
In this semester, I have a new understanding of project promotion. On the team side, I found it important to deal with conflicts between members. When the conflict is dealt with well, the team can better write collaboration and development. Personally, I find that time is very important. When it comes to what you do, it’s best to plan ahead, set daily goals, and complete progress. And check the completion progress every day, so that the task can be completed on time.
This semester is coming to an end. In one semester, I learned from the other people in the team that they are serious, efficient, and persistent in one thing. These are all worth learning. In the future, I will gradually improve and improve in these areas.
