Project Reflection – No Exit

No Exit is one of my absolute favorite architectural projects. Both from the conceptual point of view, and the final product. The difficulties and detours are the perfect embodiment of what a work needs to go through. Most of the time, I need a long time to ruminate about the inspiration of a project. Tt may not come to me easily, or in a short time. I couldn’t force myself to come out with proper project topic. But at the end of the day, when an idea is born, I would try to do whatever it takes to make it happen.

I had great difficulty in making the model.because at the beginning I don’t have much any experience in making models. So I’m going to start with a step-by-step approach. Putting the different triangles together is probably not my biggest problem, but how to glue the two boards together perfectly, and how to cut the boards accurately. While these can be overcome with practice, I don’t really have much time left over for the model, probably only a few hours per week. This is something I need to reflect on.

No matter how much difficulty I encountered in making the model, I think my ideas and process are very consistent. In the process of Research, I find that I can always recall references related to my project from past experiences, which may be good or bad. Because if you only learn from past experiences, you’re not going to learn anything new in the course of the project. But the good thing is that I understand these things more thoroughly, and it links more closely with me.
