A Room with Tone

The color scheme of this work is based on the matching of these color blocks.

Extract the Swatches

The room in this painting is one of the most famous imperial palaces in Europe, Schonbrunn Palace, located in the capital of Austria, Vienna. The last time I went there to see my friends, I looked around the palace and was very impressed with the hall. When I am here, I can feel the elegance of the place hundreds of years ago.

Schonbrunn Palace — Vienna, Austria

Therefore, when Xiaoqing said that he wanted to create an interior scene, I immediately thought of the Schonen Palace in Vienna.

To make my work more realistic, I searched for her photos on the Internet. This is Schonbrunn Palace on the Internet.

“élégant et Digne” and a Beam of Light

Perspective:
The entire building is baroque, and the interior is extremely grand. So in my work, I should highlight the depth of the palace and highlight the lines that converge to a point with bright color contrast. In this way, it can better reflect “one-point perspective” in the color works.

Colour:
I chose to use contrasting colors. I chose two contrasting colors, red with green and blue with orange. I tried to divide the steps, secret doors, arcs and murals of the palace into four parts to distinguish the color blocks, corresponding to two sets of contrasting colors respectively.

Design:
The whole picture is filled with symmetrical palaces, which looks normal, and the visual effects are relatively lacking in contrast stimulation. So I designed a few beams of sunlight in the left window, which broke the original symmetry.
