Two paintings, each depicting a city in different perspectives. Here the painter is given two options: perspective method and city. I want to identify the city first. Growing up in Beijing, I know a lot about the natural scenery in the north. But after my occasional visits to southern China, I was fascinated by the beauty of the south. I like the small bridge running water, white walls and black tiles of the water city – Suzhou. So I identified the city. Then there is the choice of perspective. I want to start with simplicity, so I choose the two perspective methods of single-point perspective and double-point perspective.
And then there’s the idea of creation. I named these two works “Balance” and “Imbalance”. Because I have always been very concerned about the relationship between nature and human beings. Humans “steal” too much from nature, and nature is not inexhaustible. Nature must therefore “warn” and “fight back” against humans, and this means natural disasters.
In “Balance”, my work is a peaceful scene. The beautiful scenery south of the Yangtze River. Among them, I painted the house black and white, while the landscape was somewhat exaggerated in color. Human beings use the resources of nature very abstemiously, do not abuse, do not waste. Nature, too, has her natural beauty.
But in “Imbalance”, the house comes bout with a bout of unnatural color, while the rest of the scene is a bout of grayness and lack of youth. On the surface, the colorful house looks very bright, but in fact, people have overused the natural resources, which results in its loss of original color and regeneration ability. Such a world is hidden the opportunity to kill, so that the human sooner or later by their own previous vicious backbite, no longer parley force.
