SA artifact(collaboration)

Good afternoon, dear judges, today I want to share my SA —- Math 2A’s flipped class.

Level:3

competency: Collabration

Introduction:

Although we did not have many cooperative activities in mathematics class this semester, I still remember the cooperation experience of last semester in the form of a flipped classroom through group cooperation near the end of the term.

Our first task is to review data handling, and our team members are Stacy, Joseph, Kira, Riley, and I am the team leader. This mission is really hard for us because we have nearly forgotten what have we learned last semester. To finish this work, we review all knowledge of Data Handling, and we make a clear division of labor.

We have six-part works Quizlet, Desmos, mind map, simple question, SAT, practice question. Our nice teacher, the sibyl, helped us do the demos. Then we have five works to five members.

This is our division of labor

Stacy’s job is to make a mind map,Kira‘s job is to make the simple question, Joseph’s job is to find practice questions, Riley’s job is to find SAT, and my job is set up Quizlet learning set. After I finish my work, I found there has much free time, then I went to find a video about Data Handling that can make learners remind the knowledge more easily.

Because I am the leader, I have set up several times meeting to check my team members speed of progress, and we can give some feedbacks from each others that can help my team to more effectively fulfill their roles.

Because it is near the end of the term, most of them attach great importance to GPA, so they work hard to complete the task. The progress of our group became very fast in an instant, and it was completed the day before DDL.

Then we arranged our playing order. First of all, I went up to show the learners a video review and then took them to do Quizlet quiz to make them think about what they had learned before. Then Stacy and Kira give lectures together. Stacy is responsible for reviewing and combine their knowledge with the mind map system. Then Kira’s simple question is for you to have a deeper understanding. And the rest of Joseph is Riley’s practice question and sat.

In the end, we also got very good results, and the final score was only the first point of the full score.

Self-reflection:

a:Team positioning

In the process of doing this, we will help each other. Sometimes, when someone comes to the group and asks for help, we will help him solve the problem. Before we started the task, each member of our team took the task seriously. Then I reminded them that they wanted them to take it seriously, so when the task started, everyone was very serious.

b:Team goal creation and c:Building team norms

As the end of the term is approaching, we are all worried about the GPA, so we directly set our goal at the full score of 50. Then, in the process of the task, we will often meet to see the progress of others, and then see how he wrote, and help him to revise and improve constantly.

d:Idea contribution

Because of the knowledge we learned last semester, we forgot a lot. So we find the notes and exercises of last semester in private, then review them by ourselves, and send the useful information to the group. This can help some notes not remember complete supplement, and then we can not miss a certain knowledge point, so that our flipped classroom can be more comprehensive.

e:Decision making and conflict resolution

We think that our team may encounter a problem, that is, if we directly start the explanation test, the learners may not be able to keep up with the progress. So our solution is to put a video about data handling at the beginning of the course to help you review it and solve this problem.

f:Responsibility and productivity

I think every member of our team did a good job because we were still in a tight schedule at that time. Then Kira went to help Stacy do the PPT together, and Joseph helped Riley sort out the answers together. Then after they finished, I was helping them to see if there was anything that could be improved, and then I put it into a document and gave it to Sibyl to get some feedback. Then I revised it with my team and finished the final product.

g:Facilitate regulation and feedback and h:Team reflection

I mentioned that above. That is, our group will set up a small DDL every day, and then the DDL will have a meeting to share with others what you have done, and then others will provide you with feedback. Then we have a meeting every day and then set a small goal, so that we can do better and better, and get closer to our goal of achieving full marks.
Then when one of our members does a great job, we will actively encourage him to complete the remaining tasks.
When we have some questions that we don’t understand, we will first ask questions in the group, but if the team says that we don’t know, we will go to Sibyl.
