Explore Emotions: Experiment 2

Inspiration

I always feel a sense of calmness and serenity while walking in the snow at night while shaking tree branches and appreciating the snow on the leaves falling to the ground.

I believe the state of calmness and serenity is the best emotional state for me. It is also the emotional state that I have discovered and pursued in daily life since it brings balance physically and mentally to me.

Hence, inspired by the scenery of walking in the now and the feelings of calmness and serenity, I made an artwork — Blue Trees with Silvery-white Leaves.

Interpretation of Blue Trees with Silver Leaves

The Blue Trees:

“I am walking in the snow at night while shaking tree branches and appreciating the snow that on the leaves falling to the ground.”

To interpret and visualize the sentence above, I made the tree trunks and branches in blue since the psychology of blue shows “blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity.”

Blue is the color of peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. It represents the emotional state of me while shaking tree branches in the snow. (Blue is also my favorite color.)

The Silver Leaves:

When the snow falls on the green leaves, it turns silvery white. This is why I chose to make the leaves in silver.

Now, I wish the leaves outside my house and my dorm would be cover with the silvery-white snow. Then, I can go out and shake the snow off to find the long lost calmness and serenity.
