Summary: This week I finished my tutorial video with version 3. And as a member of Engineering Group, I led some learners to do a rough energy estimation and the potential electricity we will produce for the first time. What’s more, had a meeting with the Lead Circle to talk about the future plan and several fundamental missions and ideas for our project. Last but not least, our whole IP team was struggled with the second milestone for IP course.
First, on Monday evening, my partner and I made a complete tutorial video on how to connect the electricity produced by solar panels to the electricity webs. I think we were great and we cooperated very well. As for the research question we discussed, we found a simple way to conclude our findings. It was creative that we used remote control to make a video with a sharing screen. The video contained a lot of information, both technology stuff and rules of applying a certification. However, there are some aspects that we still need to be improved. Form my perspective, we can iterate our video by changing another tone of describing things, which is more like a tutorial video.
Second, this week we started to calculate the energy estimation and electricity that may produced by solar panels. We had a big challenge that we hardly no anything about the facilities in the new campus. As a result, we could only gave a rough estimation by using formulas searched from the Internet. During the working time, it was my responsibility to lead my teammates to finish the estimation. But I think I did not do it very well because I could not work out a plan and assign tasks to my teammates in a proper way. This was because I knew few of things that were related to estimations at that time. That was my first time to be in touch with estimations. As the lack of experience, I did not know what to do and how to do it. The tasks I tried to assign to others were not correspondingly connected. I should prepare more before I lead someone.
Third, out Lead Cycle had a great conversation on the future plan and basic ideas or missions in this week. We spent a lot of time on talking over the mission. A mind-map which clearly showed our future steps was made by ourselves in that meeting.
last but not least, we prepared for the milestone on Wednesday together. I think our tasks were a bit blur. At first, almost none of us knew what was going on. Neither did I. I just kept answering the questions raised by Kolento. At the same time, our information balance was a little out of control. People just suddenly jumped into the discussion group and started to work with us. We lacked a clear plan at the first place. As the time went by, it was closed to give a pitch to the guardians. Kolento suddenly came out with a crazy idea and that enabled us to change our mission temporarily. Things were messed up and changes were everywhere. But at last, Yang gave a nice pitch and obtained Jerry’s Wechat luckily. I really appreciate my teammates in the project. They worked very hard. Kolento was impressive. He raised a lot of questions that were hard to answer but necessary to think about. It is someone just like Kolento, I know there are other mambers, that pushed us to be prepared and clarified to our project, narrowing down the perspectives. I truly love the atmosphere we discussed one night in the Wechat group. Each of us was keen on this project, trying to give a helping hand. However, there will be more thinks that we need to improve. Although we did not get a good prize in the milestone, there are many milestones waiting for us. The way of being successful is various, we will stick to our plan and try to achieve our goal or end of this project.
